Invest in livestock for better lives

Farm animals are pathways not only to more nourishing diets, but also to more promising livelihoods and livable incomes, healthier communities and to more climate action and environmental benefits, especially in the Global South.

The world’s cows, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry and other farm animals are essential to the well-being of the world’s most vulnerable communities, offering a source of nutrition, livelihoods and food security. Most of these people are living on and living off small farms in rural areas of the Global South, where raising livestock and selling animal-source foods are rare pathways to a better life.

Solutions with Legs Campaign

An idea, plan, or solution ‘has legs’ when it is likely to succeed over the  long term.

So does livestock.

If recognised, supported and properly funded, the livestock sector can be brought to the forefront of climate mitigation and adaptation.

Check out our campaign resources to support the call for increased investment into the livestock sector to help deliver sustainable agricultural solutions in Africa.
