About
Core message
Why Livestock Matter is a global, multi-stakeholder coalition designed to amplify the essential role of livestock in delivering global development outcomes while supporting smallholder farmers, pastoralists and SMEs.
Our supporters work to share best practices, create dialogue both within and outside the sector and build consensus around solutions that are pragmatic, sustainable and ripe for funding or investment.
The Why Livestock Matter website offers expert‑curated resources to make the case for more and better investment in the livestock sector. It is a product of the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and Advancing Investment in Sustainable and Equitable Livestock Systems project.
Getting involved
A discussion forum has been created to share ideas and discuss ways to support investment in sustainable livestock sectors in developing countries - mainly through evidence generation, communication, policy advocacy and engagement. The aim is to catalyze a community of sustainable livestock sector champions, connecting efforts and supporting concerted efforts globally.
You can join the group at https://dgroups.io/g/gladlivestock
The website, messages and evidence are always evolving and we welcome evidence or data related to sustainable livestock.
Funding Acknowledgement
