He has a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1989), a master's degree in Animal and Pasture Science from the University of São Paulo (1992), a doctorate in Animal Reproduction from the University of São Paulo (1997) and a post-doctorate from the University OfKentucky(1998). He is currently President of the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the area of ​​Veterinary Medicine, with an emphasis on Animal Product Technology. Working mainly on the following topics: Pasteurized milk, Somatic cell count, Proteolysis, Milk quality, Lipolysis.
