Food and energy nexus innovations in circular economies to reduce food waste and loss
Core message
This session will unpack how sustainable and resilient food systems can be achieved through farmer-centric and inclusive approaches to regenerative food systems via a nexus approach that integrates the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE).
These practices accelerate a transition to food systems that are less energy intensive, more cost-effective and powered by renewables, delivering better outcomes for people, nature, and climate.
This session will showcase innovative solutions being carried out by smallholder producers and entrepreneurs, particularly by women and youth. A number of innovations will be selected to pitch in a ‘Dragons’ Den’-style session.
